PDO Mono Threads
The PDO Thread Lift is a treatment which lifts and tightens sagging skin tissue, using threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO).
The threads have these effects on the skin:
- Skin Lifting
- Cellular renewel and collagen stimulation
- Neovascularisation to improve skin texture, fine lines and elasticity
- Skin Tightening
About 6 months after the procedure, the PDO threads will dissolve. The lifted facial contours will remain for about 3-6 months more, due to the cellular rejuvenation effects. Your skin cells are stimulated to produce new collagen, and new blood vessels to improve skin microcirculation. At the same time, the PDO threads cause the fat tissue to contract, producing a skin tightening and facial slimming effect.

The results last for 4-18 months. Results and the longevity of the result may vary and be affected by your lifestyle factors such as smoking and weight loss and general ageing.
Mono threads are considered a relatively painless procedure. However, for the comfort of our clients, we would use a local anesthesia.
Post procedure once the topical numbing has worn off, client may experience some discomfort, that is normal.
It is also possible of the following reactions:
- Small edema
- Bruising
- Asymmetry
- Unevenness
- Skin tightening
To ease the discomfort during the first two days, it is recommended to apply cold compress 3-4 times a day for 15 minutes in the area that was treated, and take arnica if needed.
The healing process depends largely on skin care during the recovery period, which should necessarily be treated with antiseptic solutions.
During the healing period, you should also not:
- Have hot/solid food and hot drinks during the first three days
- For two weeks any physical exertion and avoid excessive heat such as saunas/steam rooms etc
- Large facial expressions if treatment was carried out on the face.
